I had a coconut for breakfast, it took three hits with a sledge hammer.

Life is a fine wild ride

Listen to Riders On the Storm and check out the photos of my shack.

EEERRReee-WHOMP-CRASH-CRRAAACK-THUD-WHAACK!

It was a wild ride, the waterbed had a tsunami going on and Tweeter dog peed just a little. Oh wait, maybe that was me. It was darker than the N.J. tanning moms twat, and there was NO WAY to get out of the door if I wanted to, which I didn't.

These photos were taken the next day after the trees were chain sawed away from the door so I could make my way out. Power was out of course, no phone, no FARMVILLE! :)

A limb crushed the foot bridge that crosses the creek and goes to other dwellings on the property, and a tree took the corner off the roof. DAMN! I loved the white twinkle lights strung on the bridge and the roof line of this cabin. Guess it's time to fix the roof and get more lights. SHUT UP, I will paint the place some day! The silliest things make me happy. Twinkling white lights remind me of Disneyland.

It looked like the giants had played a game of pick up sticks all along Rattlesnake Creek. The pony shelter had some of the pipe frame work broken, but BillyBob and Scarlett escaped unscathed.

The strangest part? The white plastic lawn chairs were still in their places! What the fuk.

I am thankful none of the big trees fell, or my obituary would be on Uberboard today.

Lastly, here is a photo of the cabin before the storm.

Ahh nature shuts us all up. Tornadoes, volcanoes... countries argue and create war over what they THINK is theirs.

We have nothing and should be humble.

Nature owns the world.

is it skrappy's abdominal apron?

Reason #874 why "Nature Sucks".

Since there was NO WIND when this series of trees started coming down all around me, I am wondering if the mine shafts or the Hetch Hetchy tunnel could be shifting around below?

Yay for unhurt beasties and stubborn patio sets. Boo to no farmville and damaged bits though.

It's like a fairytale cabin xx

Yes, seems like the ONLY place there is NOT a tree down is right where there are living breathing things. The chicken house was not hit either.

Yes, it is a rather weird fairytale cabin, and the strangest things come calling...

Hope you have insurance...or at least a chainsaw
~~~~~
Insurance? hahahaa.. When I bought this place I managed to get a policy long enough to close escrow. When the company came out to make the inspection the next month, they looked around this place at the miners shacks, the creek that has been known to float entire sheds down the mountain, and the old gold mine, and said they no longer wanted to be my insurance company. :)
Chainsaw? I loaned a friend my brand new Stihl and never saw it again. HOWEVER, everybody around here has chain saws and mountain folk are helpful in times of trouble. *puts new chain saw on list
Damn. Looks like trees fell every which way except right on top of you.
Glad you're safe.
Trees DID fall every which way! I am wondering WHY this happened. There was NO WIND. Seriously creepy
Skrappy must've smelt a chilli-cheese dog and went running through the bush.
I'm guessing the sound is a llama!
~~~~~~~~~~
What a relief! I thought people just skimmed over my oh-so-important posts without taking my links!
Guess again.

While you are pondering the source of the sound, take the link to the rare whispering version of Riders On The Storm?

I'd offer to fix that eave and rake for you but it'd be a hell of a commute.

Anyway, we'd like to thank you for the occasional moments of peace and
love our family's experienced ... well, not today. You saw what
happened. Oh, Lord, be honest. Are we the most pathetic family in
the universe, or what?
