Along the lines of Goatse, tubgirl, and Ubersite, Pro Football Talk.com is one of the worst websites I've had the misfortune of stumbling across. They're no more a source of inside information than Dionne Warwick is a psychic, yet for some reason people tend to take their asinine ramblings seriously. The fact that they're starting to be known as an inside source of NFL news is the most ridiculous thing this side of Steve Gutenbergbeing a popular actor in the '80s.

Pro Football Talk is a fraud. A sham. Second cousin to the Rabbit who wouldn't accept that Trix were for kids. They're the same site that had "inside info that Mike Sherman was to be the next coach of the Arizona Cardinals and Pete Carroll had signed with the San Diego Chargers. Now they're saying Eric Steinbach and Adalius Thomas "have deals in hand" with other teams.

Please.

Their entire philosophy is based on the idea that if you throw enough crap against the wall something will eventually stick. Then they can point to it and say, "See? We right all along" like a proud parent showing a golfing buddy his kid's report card. Please. Look around everyone, festering piles of cow dung are rising up on all sides of you and are a threat to the cleanliness of your shoes.

As if that's not enough, they are arrogant as Justin Timberlake, only with less of a reason. At least he nailed Cameron Diaz, Scarlett Johansen and Jessica Biehl, had two hit records, and made a song called "Dick in a Box." Bully for him. (For the record, I'm not sure any of that's true, and it's quite possible I misspelled each name. I really couldn't possibly care less, as the personal lives and spelling of celebrities' names are not a high prirority for me.)

What has Pro Football Talk ever accomplished? Nada, that's what! But don't tell them that ... oh no, they're the most important news source on the entire Internet. Just ask them, they will not hesitate to confirm this statement.

Here's a funny story, and by "funny," of course I mean nauseating. Last week PFT reported that TJ Houshmandzadeh had signed a new agent and was looking to leave Cincy. TJ denied the report and said he changed agents because his previous one is suspended. PFT came right back with this little blurb:
Quote:

In direct response to our report that he wants to get out of Cincinnati, Bengals receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh denies that his decision to fire agent David Dunn and hire Kennard McGuire was driven by a desire to change teams.

"No one talked to me about it. I don't know where it came from," Houshmandzadeh said. "They just want to say because I fired David Dunn there must be a reason. But I felt like I needed someone who is out there and working for me because you don't know what is going to happen in two years."

Our response to T.J.'s response? Baloney. It's not as if Dunn was just fired last week; he agreed to an 18-month suspension before the start of the 2006 season. This isn't about Dunn.

So we stand by our report. And we thank Housh for not calling us a bunch of punk-ass white boys.
Wow. Now that's what I expect from a legit news source. Huzzah! I kept waiting for them to use the phrase "fraid not," and refer to Houshmandzadeh as a "Liar, liar, pants-on-fire," but sadly they never did. I wouldn't have expected anything less from these "hard-hitting journalists."

Then again, I'm a basketball guy myself and don't spend a whole lot of time at football pages.

I hate it there.
