The common people did not have the right of Habeas Corpus until 1679. You saying, or someone lse saying that habeas corpus SHOULD be an inalienable right doesn't matter shit. Habeas corpus did not become a right until 1679, people have not magically had it forever and it was not included in the Magna Carta.
Rights do not exist in thin air, they are, whether you like it or not, granted by the powers and systems that be. If they just naturally come up out of the ground or you thought so then you would not have said we had had it since the middle ages, as we would, in your fairytale world, have had it forever.

Yes, habeas corpus was written into the magna carta, which was a document that secured the rights of lords and people against monarchial tyranny in 1215, which WAS the middle ages.
As a buttress to this argument, a "right" also isn't a "right" simply because it is written down. This is why our country - which you wouldn't know jack shit about obviously - begins by saying that God has bestowed upon man certain inalienable rights among which are "life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness". "Inalienable" means that by no writ can these rights be stolen from a man. No law has the "right", under God, to take these certain rights from an individual. Those that do are the very definition of evil. Habeas Corpus is an irascible component of "liberty".
The fact that I should have to explain these things to someone who claims to understand the very foundations of the society he's supposedly a part is a direct reflection of the sorry state of affairs to which this so-called "war on terror" has brought us. That people like you could so carelessly defend a government which is obviously abridging your rights for the purported purpose of safety and security is an evolutionary DIGRESSION in mankind's progress.
In short, sir, it is not the Osama Bin Ladens of the world that will eventually spell the downfall of this grand experiment in democracy, it is people like you and domenad that will be its undoing.

there are protestors there camping there every day. i think what happened there is that they didnt inform the right people that they were going to do it so the police could arrange the cover - so fair enough really. england isnt like that, trust me i live about a mile from there.

Also, check out the parts that deal with the Special Forces from Texas, who stormed a town in the middle of the night without even notifying the citizens. Flying helicopters, setting fire to buildings, shooting off machine guns, working in tandem with the local SHERRIFS to set up blockades...
Is THAT for overseas training? What would be the purpose of working in tandem with the police dept. if it's just some kind of innocuous 'final exam'?

Clomipramine (brand-name Anafranil®) is a tricyclic antidepressant.
Clomipramine is the 3-chloro derivative of Imipramine. Clomipramine is a strong, but not completely selective Serotonic-Reuptake-Inhibitor (SRI), as the active main metabolite Desmethyclomipramine acts preferably as inhibitor of Noradrenaline-Reuptake. Due to its action against anxiety disorders and panic attacks it is the only drug with 2 entries in the 'Essential Drugs' list of the WHO. Some studies have indicated that clomipramine is slightly more effective in the treatment of depression than other tricyclics.
Regarding compulsive disorders it is now the 'gold standard' of therapy, against which other drugs are measured.
Interesting results indicate that the antidepressant activity correlates with the plasma-level of the main active metabolite Desmethylclomipramine, while antidepressant activity merely correlates with the plasma-level of Clomipramine in unchanged form

Cuba and Russia looked at each other, smiled, and went in anyways with the Cuban Missile Crisis. They brought a gun to a fist fight, and America didn't like it.
So they did what they've done since the American Revolution. They bade their time, waiting for a weakness, then went in and hit em with a cheap shot, blowing up the plane.
Russia and Cuba double team and threaten to nuke America, America blows up a Cuban plane. Everybody's fighting dirty, cause that's what war is: dirty, dirty business.
This is everybody's fault. You can't just blame America. Sure, the guy did take the plane out, but it wouldn't have happened if Cuba hadn't entered the situation in the first place.
And it's sad that innocents died, but we had already tried to eliminate Castro, EIGHT TIMES. The man's fucking invincible. And since we couldn't hit him, we hit what belonged to him, hoping he'd stop. Classic military strategy.
As for the whole 14 years thing...the Cold War went on for 40+. This was a slowwwwww drawn-out battle. There was no ground combat, no trenches, no machine guns...this was a battle of will. Attacks come slow. Simple as that.

Let me repeat... I never said I knew which part of the English government carried out the attacks on 7/7.
I linked you to a video that showed evidence something fishy was going on within the government and gave examples of the kinds of things that MI5 and MI6 are capable of from insiders.

I could say that everytime I go to Blockbuster and they only have one cop of "Save the Last Dance" in that the employees only leave one copy out. Then when a person sees this one copy, they think "This must be a good movie, they are almost all gone. I better snatch up the last one!" Then the employee goes to the back and puts out another copy.

Read the first 2 paragraphs again. They are stating as FACT that he was trying to warn the CIA. In effect, by stating that up front, they colored the rest of the reading. They confused the reader to the point where they reported the news, but they didn't leave the reader with a knowledge of the actual truth of the matter, as if it were still open for fucking debate.
There are no "two sides" to this fucking story, Indo. There is the truth and that's it. Carriles worked for the CIA, and internal government documents show that he, along with some compatriots, bombed the Cuban flight and carried out numerous other terrorist acts. Trying to frame it like he was trying to infiltrate the group and inform on them to the CIA is completely disingenuous and doesn't flow with the actual documentation.

But my point was this: It wasn't my experience in school being taught that the Jews were pretty much the top dogs in the financial institutions of Germany at the time of WWII. That wasn't my educational experience. They taught us by showing us documentaries where Hitler had demonized them by portraying them as the dregs of society, like free-loading gypsies who were destroying the economy.
This gave the impression that the Jews really were just poor and powerless underdogs and nothing more.

Well, if I had the various filmstrips and videos I was shown in school with me, I'd post them, but I don't. I don't know their titles either, but I distinctly remember seeing a 'documentary' on Hitler's propaganda machine in school, and the posters that demonized the Jewsf as being the dregs of society, not because they were money-hungry or slimy/shrewd businessmen, but because they were like the German equivalent of niggers or gypsies.

I don't know their titles either, but I distinctly remember seeing a 'documentary' on Hitler's propaganda machine in school, and the posters that demonized the Jewsf as being the dregs of society, not because they were money-hungry or slimy/shrewd businessmen, but because they were like the German equivalent of niggers or gypsies.

ETS: It's easy to understand why people remain oblivious. They choose to. When you offer information that upsets someones confortable creation of "reality", they become defensive. Another downfall of Human Ego.

Something to consider.
The funny thing is, right now, at this moment in time, the chess pieces are all set up for such a scenario.
Kathy (FA) has often expressed wonder why we Americans are so iffy on the U.N. and so obsessed with the notion of national sovereignty. That videogame intro kinda explains why. Now some would argue they are restoring order, but, just like in the first civil war, state rights are held in subordination to federal law.
In this way, Lincoln WAS a tyrant. He suspended habeas corpus back then as well, and freed the slaves, not because it was the right thing to do necessarily, but because it helped his war cause and encouraged slaves to rise up against their masters and crush the rebellion from within.
If the South had won that war, the world would be a lot better off. I know that sounds unpopular, but I contend it's truthfulness. The industrial revolution and advancements in technology would have made slavery obsolete in a matter of decades, and today, instead of one superstate/empire, we'd have two states that provide a moderation on one another.
Just a thought.

You can't just ignore history like that. You can't isolate one single incident during a war and say "This side was the bad guys, they were malicious and evil, they suck, they must be held accountable."
Because war doesn't work that way. Both sides think the other is the wrong one, and whatever action is necessary to dominate them, WILL BE TAKEN. Even if that means blowing up an airplane, or sending nukes to Cuba, or hijacking planes into buildings.
You think you're the modern day Jesus, sent to earth with plans on how to revert millions of years of human evolution. But you can't. "Me hurt bad man" is ingrained in our DNA, and trying to stop that is just, fucking, retarded.
