obviously the first three are from Iraq. i have about a million pictures and a lot of them are awesome, but i chose these three because i really like them. the other ones are of Chicago and the last two is my new baby. an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. i can't justify buying a Gibson, but the Ep is just as awesome to me. i had a bad dream last night that i left it somewhere and when i came back it had been defiled. there were scratches all over it and a huge gash (haha, "huge gash") and writing all over it. i was sweating when i woke up. thank god it was a dream...

I bought the same guitar (black EP Les Paul Standard) six months ago - only mine is left-handed because I like to keep my right hand free while I strum open strings to knock groupies the fuck out. Also I took off the pickguard.
I have this song, it's called "Bwaaaaaarn-eeeee(feedback)eeeee-arrrrrn..." and basically that's how the song sounds, too. Only with more wah pedal and some baby crying its balls off while I play in an airport restroom.
Guitar fact: Babies love deminished chords.

Stabby- i actually met the guys at Mahmudiyah that went into that village and went on a killing spree and raped and killed that girl. even worse, they told me about killing people (but not about raping the girl) while we were waiting for a chopper out of Mahmudiyah and i didn't say anything about it to anyone because i didn't believe them. i've had a few soldiers tell me about how their buddy got killed in some village so they went back there and did a "shake down". i thought they were all crazy because i met a lot of soldiers that went absolutely insane from being out there too long. hell, i started going nuts myself after about ten months. (i wasn't on a fun camping trip like the civilians at the embassy. i had a real job and worked closely with soldiers doing the dirty work.)
turns out that they were crazy, but they were also telling the truth...

i've been sorting through my pictures and there's just way too many of them. i've picked out a bunch that i liked and i'm already up to 40 megs worth of pictures and there's easily another couple gigs of just Baghdad pictures. i will upload the 40 megs worth i've already picked out if someone has a place where i can host them.
it's that or i can post 5 - 10 pictures every so often. that would take a while...

That looks EXACTLY like the guitar I bought in Korea years ago... A cheap version with some cheap components, but very nice looking and easy to upgrade. Sadly, I had no patience and time to learn to play so I quit and sold the thing. I picked up drinking instead...a bad choice, probably.

i got it at guitar center on Halsted. it was during their huge anniversary sale. i only spent about $1,200 total for guitar, case, amp, processor, and i got a nice double stand because i have a bass and acoustic but only had a single guitar stand. i made them throw in a few accessories because there was a ridiculously expensive cable i wanted but didn't want to pay for.

Where did you get the guitar? I want to get a new one because mine is a little beaten and I busted the pickup when I was changing the bridge. Guitar Center is pretty expensive on new ones and I don't like the idea of buying a guitar site unseen from Ebay or craigslist.

LeaderOfMen- what's the VBC? is it in Baghdad? i've never heard that term before. i spent a lot of time at Victory where the Al Faw palace is and in the IZ. the IZ rocks. it's like a fun camping trip that pays a lot of money if you're at the US embassy. the pool there is nice and the civilian thursday night drinkathon is a blast. i wish i would have worked there instead. i could have easily stayed long enough to make a cool half million.
i'll post some palace pictures later.

that's a Georgian flag, Johnny. he's a sniper in the Georgian army. he was a cool dude. he'd be sitting there smoking on this rooftop on this old torn up recliner and listening to techno, and then a carbomb would go off and he'd grab his Dragunov and crouch down and aim in case he needed to take a shot. his english was poor and it was hilarious to see him dance to the techno in all his gear and ask me "you like this music? it is good, no?" i lied and said i loved it. he let me hold his dragunov but we weren't in an area where i could take a shot since it was downtown and it was a tactical position. it was still cool to look through the scope of a sniper rifle like that because i've only fired assault rifles.

ps- these were all resized to cut down on the filesize so you don't get to see them in all their glory. sorry. and i use a 24" widescreen display, so if you don't run a high resolution, you might get pissed off at these large images. sorry. i usually try to to accommodate lower resolutions, but i simply could not comprimise image quality any more than i already have.
