This first part is an interview with Zbigniew Brzezinski from Le Nouvel Observateur*
January 15-21, 1998, p. 76*

In this interview, we see the former National Security Advisor to President Carter, co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, member of the Council on Foreign Relations, close personal friend of David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger, and former paid consultant to BP-Amoco talk about the US government's instigation of the Russian/Afghani war, and it's portrayal of the Russian invasion as unprovoked.

It is precisely by studying such admissions that the present policy directives are opened up and illuminated. I haven't read it as of yet, but Brzezinski's 1997 book, "THE GRAND CHESSBOARD - American Primacy And It's Geostrategic Imperatives," is probably a pretty telling read. It was originally written for the CFR as a strategic study, and has been dubbed by a former NATO official as a "Blueprint for World Dictatorship." A nice summary can be found here: http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/zbig.html

The second article (in picture and PDF form at bottom) outlines the effect this policy had on the events of 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Happy reading!

--------------------------------------

INTERVIEW WITH ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI

Q: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs ["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it?

B: It isn't quite that. We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today?

B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter: We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundementalists, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated: Islamic fundamentalism represents a world menace today.

B: Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard to Islam. That is stupid. There isn't a global Islam. Look at Islam in a rational manner and without demagoguery or emotion. It is the leading religion of the world with 1.5 billion followers. But what is there in common among Saudi Arabian fundamentalism, moderate Morocco, Pakistan militarism, Egyptian pro-Western or Central Asian secularism? Nothing more than what unites the Christian countries.

* There are at least two editions of this magazine; with the perhaps sole exception of the Library of Congress, the version sent to the United States is shorter than the French version, and the Brzezinski interview was not included in the shorter version. Translated by William Blum.

So everyone I mentioned above works for the Gov.

How many people do you know from NY? have you ever been there? Do you have a favorite place to find soup dumplings. Have you ever been to a country where it is stylish to have osama T-shirts on? If what we were taught wasn't the truth then what was ETS? If it was nothing more than a struggle for strategic position over oil, do you still think the other side is better?

--------------------

In many cases...yes. The other side is better.

We'll save 9/11 for another day, but I think I've made my point with respect to 9/11 over and over and over again on this website, and if you are still not convinced that elements of the government were at least complicit, if not plotters themselves, you're an idiot. Plain and simple.

It's funny that I'm being accused of neglecting the larger picture. That's absolutely hilarious. "The Larger Picture" consists, for many people, of what they've been sold all their lives about the nature of the cold war and the reason for nation-building and neo-colonialism since grade school. It consists of the government-painted history from another era as it was TAUGHT to us, NOT as it actually was.

The whole 'communism' vs. 'capitalism' thing was nothing more than an umbrella under the struggle that continues now for world position with respect to oil fields and other strategic trade routes and military positions took place from the end of WWII through the 1980s. Why do we give a shit what someone wants to do halfway around the world with respect to their government unless we see a strategic reason to combat them?

If what we were taught wasn't the truth then what was ETS? If it was nothing more than a struggle for strategic position over oil, do you still think the other side is better? You don't think that their are groups besides the US that are struggling for that position? I realize that America only cares about another countries freedom (or cares enough to act) if they are valuable to the US. that is no big sinister conspiracy. The same can be said about any group with power to influence groups outside their border.

Why I don't think you get the bigger picture is because you still seem to see the US's actions in a vaccuum. You seem to think that they are the only country to think that way. You seem to think that if the US didn't interfere in other countries affairs that no other country would. The cold war may not have been as simple as communism and capatilism or communism and freedom, but are you trying to tell me that the USSR wasn't jockeying for the same position? and if they both were, are you really going to try and tell me that the way of life in the USSR was better? Which way of life would you rather have exported to you? No country is ideal, and no major political choices by any country are ever purely benevolent. It is all a series of lesser evils. but you don't seem to get that, you look at the US in the worst possible light, which would be ok if you applied the same standard everywhere, but you don't. You make it our like every group the US interacts with is completely innocent.

I have never said the US is perfect, I never will say that, but as far as super powers go it is the best game in town. I am not saying don't try and improve it or critisize it. But at least have the fucking brains to understand what was going on when you critisize it.

You know what ETS you are right. America is and was the source of evil in the world. Communism was a great system to live under, America should have done nothing to prevent its spread, afterall Russia never did anything to stop the spread of Democracy.

For all those years we were told it was for our safety and for the freedom of people around the world from communism that we were fighting, but it was for money. Nothing more. If our interests in stamping out communism were truly humanitarian in nature, would we not be doing the same thing right now with respect to China? Should we not, instead of growing China's repressive government with our open trade, be leveraging their government to treat their people better? To give them freedom?

The truth is, we don't NEED a cold war with China. They are more useful as slaves.

We don't need them as an enemy, and we don't need them to change their ways. We've got another, faceless enemy now...an enemy who can strike anywhere, anytime, and in any degree. Most importantly, it's an enemy that allows us to do basically what we want in a specific region of the world without having to limit our conflict with one particular nation. Instead we are supposedly fighting an ideology that can be ascribed to almost anyone with brown skin who sits on an oil field.

Again, if any one of you cannot see that, you're an idiot. If you can convince yourself that this IS the truth, but you still think that what we've done is for the best because it will increase America's power in the long run, you are an idiot as well. We are on a road to tyranny. Nothing can come of our present course other than the total repression of the American people - the people who have their elections stolen from them now as a rule rather than an exception.

Our government has been a puppet for a long time now to people behind the scenes, but until now, these people have been content to let democracy act as a curtain of legitimacy covering the real process. We are institutionalized from day one with the idea we live in a great country that allows dissent, but what kind of dissent have you seen allowed lately?

The only reason we have to talk so much about 'freedom' in this country is because someone either trying to sell us a war because of it, or is trying to take it from us.

I want two things from my government and that's it. I want them to secure our borders and coordinate necessary social services. That's it. I don't want them traipsing around a fucking desert halfway around the world, stomping people's fingers and toes, riling them against me and my countrymen for the sake of oil.

What has oil done for us lately?

I say stop training soldiers and oil riggers and put them to work on a permanent solution to the energy problem. Let's look for a permanent source of free energy instead...as a planet.

Let's stop fighting amost ourselves and take a good look at the true source of the problem, which is and always has been, since the beginning of time, greedy and power-hungry men.

Enough is enough.

If this election is stolen from us, I suggest we storm Washington and take our country back. I suggest we storm the banks and tell the people behind this mess that we will not tolerate them anymore. If need be, I say we start hanging people.

We have a second amendment for a reason. I suggest it's almost time to use it.

Brzezinski. A Pole. Who's gonna believe anything a Pole says?

If you read his bio you'll see the thinly-veiled truth - that his father used diplomatic connections to flee the dangers of Europe.

And this was after postings in the Soviet Union and Germany, pre-war.

Stay and fight, or run like hell to the sfe haven of th Americas?

Obviously, after shitting themselves over the rise of Nazism, Brzezinski and his father were HEAVILY influenced by socialist brainwashing, which explains why he was later so essential in the administration of Jimmy 'Commie' Carter.

And he encouraged close relations with COMMUNIST China, the GREATEST MENACE FACING THE FREE WORLD TODAY, which shows that like his Polish Gov't Member father, he was at heart, a spineless appeaser.

FUCK Zbigniew Brzezinski

FUCK China.

FUCK American Socialist wimps.

FUCK the enemy with raw, relentless thrusts, delving deeper and deeper into their soft spots, pounding and pounding until they are on their knees, breathless and begging for mercy.

Colin Powell and the Bush administration are 'outed' again. How much more do some people need?

Here's another interesting video that sees transatlantic lies from Geoff Hoon, the British Defence Secretary. He tries to tow the party line and fails in front of a British audience who are too smart NOT to see through the bullshit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwR4mAlBh2o

Ok, here's the transcript for the Tim Russert interview in which Colin Powell was deliberately cut off: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A31989-2004May16.html

Unfortunately, I can't find the actual video anywhere, which is kinda fucked up. IF anyone knows where I can find it, please link me.
