There's these nasty caterpillars, tent caterpillars I think, that come every year and chew the shit out of the trees in my yard.
They make the trees look horrible but I don't want to spray with poison for two reasons:
1) cost 2) other critters eat those caterpillars and I don't want to poison the food chain.
Today I was out in the yard. I see a hornet in the tree.
Now bugs don't normally scare me. I'm not one to flee from a wasp or hornet, which is a good thing since hornets are pretty common in my backyard.
This hornet is a little guy sitting on one of the curled up leaves. He's goin' hard after one end of the curl and I can see the little caterpillar wigglin' inside tryin' to get out of the other end of the curl.
This little hornet was awesome! He'd pull hard on the curled up leaf, then stop for a break, quickly cleaning his antennae. While the caterpillar is wigglin' like crazy tryin' to get away (I suppose). The hornet is still very calm takin' his break, then right back into uncurling the curl. It was great!!
I'm cheering on the hornet (in my head of course) but I was smilin' like crazy watchin' the hornet get one of the little fuckers!! He finally uncurls the leaf, and grabs onto the caterpillar with his pincers.
And proceeds to suck the juice right out of him!!
It was terrific!!!
So... that's why I don't spray my trees! And now I'm seriously diggin' the hornets!!

Some trees in my yard got infested with those bastard caterpillars. No vampire hornets to be found, so I cut the affected branches out of the trees, tent and all. Put 'em in a pile the driveway, doused the pile with gasoline, and lit that bitch. Burn, you vegetation-destroying crawly tent-spinning nomadic insects, BURN! Then I stomped on the ashes and laaaaughed...
Fuck caterpillars, I get nice trees 'cos I earned 'em.
===================
YOU ROCK!! I would love to see pictures of the little fuckers on FIRE!!!

This is what Thoreau would have written. If his mother had eaten lead paint chips while pregnant.
