My allergies are being a total bitch lately. Having a stuffy nose sucks. Thank God for Claritin, man. I might well die.

As always, http://handturkeytheatre.box43.net

Go whore it to your friends or something.

I'm going to have to fact check this, but if true that's pretty cool... (Didn't know Bell had a deaf wife and mother.)

Damn funny though.

It's the little things that make these amazing.

"A long distance." CLASSIC!

Not to mention every single other thing in the post. Good show, chap!

I love these. I also love getting to wear jeans on Fridays because deep down, I'm 10 years old. I also love the fact that my boss is gone for the weekend so I'm leaving early. I just can't decide how early is too early to leave. Maybe I'll put my radio on a sleep timer to go off at 5 and turn on that handy spreadsheet & business objects screen shot screen saver so it looks like I'm still here.

the -1 wasn't because i thought the assistant had a different name. i was simply wondering that but thanks for the info. the -1 was because while some of these were funny, i found this to be quite "meh" and shpagnum already said that.

It's ok man, don't worry about it. I knew why I got the -1.

From Wikiquote:

"Mr. Watson, come here, I want you."
-- First words spoken into the telephone when Bell spilled battery acid and called for Mr. Watson in the other room (10 March 1876)

Elisha Gray is also credited with it. But I went to Wikipedia and found this:

"However, Meucci was recognized by the US House of Representatives, in House Resolution 269, dated 11 June 2002, as stated, "Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that the life and achievements of Antonio Meucci should be recognized, and his work in the invention of the telephone should be acknowledged". The Parliament of Canada retaliated by passing a resolution recognizing Canadian immigrant Alexander Graham Bell as the only inventor of the telephone. [1] [2]"

So to count, there are three people total who invented the telephone.

"agreed to hear the case between Meucci and Bell, and the government was moving to annul the patent issued to Bell on the grounds of fraud and misrepresentation. However, Meucci died before the trial commenced, rendering any judgment moot - and the case was discontinued."

Well.....many sources, try looking at official lists of inventions I can't remember that post was a long time ago, its just one of the things I know.

Try Wikipedia or something...even though it isn't really reliable. That is actually one of the more commonly known ones actually, it was the second one anybody got right.

Having done spome releasrch I find little evidence Of bell having stolen the idea, though my original source for that is Stephen Fry who carries more than a small amount of beleivability.

Certainly Meccuci invented the phonme first, although I'm aware that the canadian government deny this.

Alright, but I'm still a bit sceptical about the Graham Bell thing. I've been to the museum about his life and the invention of the telephone in Bedeque Nova Scotia, and it seems unlikely they would overlook such a fact. What is your source on this?

As much as I am a fan of your use of the Giant Manga Tear (TM), I'm glad you didn't go with it here. DEFINITELY had the opportunity, but I think it would have been too easy.

Thank you for maintaining the purity and the integrity of the Giant Manga Tear (TM).
