This took me about three days to do, starting from scratch (with a picture of the painting as a reference obviously). Mine has a lot more texture to it, but gimme a break, I'm using Microsoft Paint. The background was the easiest part.
Any suggestions on another painting I could do?

One thing i think people are overlooking:
MS Paint does not even come close to having the number of colors required to pull this shit off. Look at any picture ever done on MS Paint..it's all filled with bold, strong colors...nothing like this highly detailed blend of colors and lighting. Fucking bullshit.

I really <3 gib, but this was simply too good to be true. So I downloaded the pictures and have been studying them like crazy to see if it could be true. I now think that it is true, amazingly. I may be getting tricked, but the trim on the top of her dress looks completely different in both pics, the shape of the neck where it meets the collarbone is slightly off, and the ringlets of hair over the left shoulder (HER left...) looks different.
Not to be picky...I had to concentrate to find this stuff. AMAZING.

Even if he did draw it (which granted is possible) let me axplain to you how.
Yes, it would have taken 66 hours, however any fourth grader can do this (even you nice folks at home).
Take the original picture and zoom in so that you can see the pixels. Take the eye dropper tool which copies selected colors on the original, and then simply re-draw all the pixels that are similar to that color.
I've done this several times, it is very easy yet effective.
So BULLSHIT.

I never appreciated this painting of a homely Mediterranean Bitch, save the background which you did not reproduce.
This is a classic that CAN be improved upon. I.e; thin that honker down, fill out the lips, eliminate the puffy eyes, pump up the cleavage...
However, you should be aware that you are receiving criticism from someone who cannot draw stick figures well.

I took a look at the two images, and I am willing to say with some authority that regardless of whether or not Gibberish was the one to reproduce this Mona Lisa, the two images are distinctly different. Like, hugely different.
Zoom the smaller one up and follow the bouncing ball:
1) The hair has a different consistency and texture in places that the artist "filled in the gaps"- Da Vinci intentionally kept the hair more or less blurry, and certain definite additions have been made all over it in the remake. The actual outline of the hair against the background is significantly different as well.
2) The pattern on the hem of the shirt on the remake is completely different.
3) There is a definitive line of shadow on the left hand side of the nose on the remake that doesn't appear on the original, making the nose appear rounder and larger. In addition, minor structural changes were made to the shadowing on the mouth, lending it more definition. This is something Da Vinci intentionally avoided; part of the immense popularity of this painting is that it literally reflects the viewer's mood. The blur on the corners of Mona's mouth allows the viewer to interpret the mouth as being a full, happy smile or an unemotional courtesy smile- reflecting joy in the former and potentially sadness in the latter.
4) Placement, size and structure of the irises and pupils differ, in proportion to the eyeballs.
5) The green lines are missing in the background of the remake. I do not know if this is part of the original or an artifact introduced in this particular photo of the painting.
6) There is an almost unnoticable disproportion of the mouth and eyes to the curvature of the face in the remake when compared to the original. (This is not to say that they were positioned disproportionately to each other; simply that they were disproportionate to the alignment of those in the original.)
7) Artifacts have been introduced to the lighted area of the shirt in the lower right hand corner.
None of these are intended to show that the remake was done poorly; in fact, I feel that it is quite the opposite- a very high quality remake by a talented artist. Whether that artist is Gibberish is still a matter you're welcome to debate- however, the two paintings depicted are quite clearly not the product of a photoshop filter being run on the original. It is almost certainly a remake.

I upset at the lack of details describing the creative process. How long it take...how'd you do it in paint...did you draw it from scratch?did you load a pic of the mona lisa as a guide and paint on top of it. Sorry, but its too good to be real.

This is beautiful. I wouldn't care if you just painted on top of a .jpeg. Your colors are lovely.
I suggest Van Gogh's "Olive Trees." The texture is just right.

I was thinking about Van Gogh, but have decided that I want something smoother. The added texture helps distinguish the real Mona Lisa from mine, whereas something like "Starry Night" would be nearly impossible to tell apart, save for a few botched colors here and there.
I'm not sure about the texture in "Olive Trees" but I'll be sure to check that out.

If you HONESTLY did this, why aren't you in some form of graphic design? I've seen what graphic artists can do using the best resources at school and I've never seen them do anything this good.
How did you get the colors almost perfect? It would take weeks of blending and fucking around to get it so close.

Well first off, I am God.
I'm not in any graphic design business because I'm 17.
I just kept trying different colors until I got one that fit. I had over 20 MsPaint Windows opened at one time so I could keep the color stats of what I wanted handy, plus I used the eye dropper tool A LOT for those many repeat colors. I had RGB/ Hue,Sat,Lum numbers written down on different pieces of paper, slowly tweaking them.
When I say this took me three days, I mean this took me THREE DAYS. Not 12 hours over a period of three days, or 18 ... it was more like 66 hours. I have insomnia (lots of free time).
Believe me or not, it's up to you.

Honestly, it's pretty easy to tell that it was done in Paint, just look at it up close. The line work is fairly obvious, unless I didn't use a high enough quality jpeg when I posted it and it came out blurred.
