I am new to ubersite, but I have read several posts regarding current situations
in the Middle East. Most of these are crap. However, it seem that the majority of responders
either disagree with U.S. policies in the region or actually blame the U.S. for
atrocities occuring there (beheadings,, suicide bombings, etc.). The point I would
like to make is the justification for the war in Iraq. I would include
Afgahnistan, but I hope the reasons for that have already been made clear.
First and foremast, Saddam Hussien did have weapons of mass destruction. Everyone
knew this, democrats, republicans, the entire world.
"there were substantial quantities of botulinum and aflatoxin, as I recall, some bioagents, I believe there were those, and VX and ricin, chemical agents, unaccounted for...we alsothought there were a few missiles, some warheads, and maybe a very limited amount of nuclear laboratory capacity." This comment is from former President Bill Clinton in an interview recently with Time magazine.
Clinton also goes on to say,
"That's why I supported the Iraq thing. There was a lot of stuff unaccounted for. So I thought the President had an absolute responsibility to go to the U.N. and say, "Look, guys, after 9/11, you have got to demand that Saddam Hussein lets us finish the inspection process." You couldn't responsibly ignore [the possibility that] a tyrant had these stocks. I never really thought he'd [use them]. What I was far more worried about was that he'd sell this stuff or give it away."
Everyone knows that Saddam Hussein was supporting terrorists in his country. He gave millions of dollars to the families of suicide bombers, why couldn't he have also given some anthrax to al-Zarqawi? My point is, that after 9-11 America could not take the chance that Saddam would either sell or give away his weapons to any terroist group. Think about this: as president would you rather wait for Saddam to possibly sell or give away his "possible WMD" and end up with 5 million dead Americans or would you rather not take chances and invade Iraq, dethrone Saddam and find his weapons, thereby possibly saving millions of American lives.
I say it is better safe than sorry
I realize that North Korea is just as bad or worse than Saddam's Iraq, but Iraq had much closer ties to terrorist organizations than does N. Korea and therefore posed a much greater immediate threat.

hey, moron, here's what I recommend:
Take Philosophy 101, Logic. That way, when I call you out on all your fallacies, you'll understand what I'm saying.
Oh, BTW, you're a douchebag. A strawberry-scented, cherry-flavored douchebag.

What purpose would it serve for suddam to give WMD to terrorists? What would he gain? If he gave it to these religious extremists they would just as likely use it against him, Saddam was a secular leader after all, and as American as Apple pie (don't kid yourself into thinking the rest of the world or the terrorists have forgot that Saddam was American backed). If they used it Against America that would be suicide for Saddam, and he is too much of a survivor to do something as stupid as that.
The United States dose not give two flying fucks about upholding UN resolutions (they've vetoed more of them then anybody else), they use the UN when they can get a rubberstamp to lend some international credibility to there imperialistic pursuits, that's all. So regardless of weather or not there was a UN resolution demanding Iraq disarm or not the US was still going to take Iraq.
When America's leaders start condoning torture and spew shit like the following you got to realize that something is wrong.
Wolfowitz "I don't need proof of involvement in Sept. 11 to be concerned that Saddam Hussein is providing mutual support to al- Qaida,' he said. "It seems to me it's like saying if someone breeds Rottweilers and leaves the gate open but doesn't tell the dog who to attack, that he's not operationally involved in the thing.' (What's he talking about, and why are we still paying him?)
Wolfowitz : I don't need proof.

Seeing as how I am *in* Iraq right now, I feel more than justified in giving you a -2.
You've managed to regurgitate a bunch of media pap smear onto my screen.
There are a lot more attempted justifications than what you've come up with here. None with any solid evidence as of yet.
Anybody that could actually point a finger in the right direction has long since been assasinated and lies in a shallow grave, probably not far from whereever he hid the weapons.
Don't believe the media. Don't believe the Press releases. Everyone lies. I hate the media, especially.

This post would have been a work of art if during its writing you would have
contracted an advanced form of syphilis and crawled off into the woods to die alone.

When I woke up this morning, I had this strange feeling in the back of my mind that was telling me I wanted someone to die. I was very confused, as I could not think of a specific person that I wanted dead at the time.
Then I read this post, and it all became clear.
DIE.
