Just needed one more drink. Just one more, and there was a bar just one block down. Went down. I'd had a bottle but I went down. Jenna the bartender, hot blonde, no experience in these things, she served me. Two drinks.
She panicked.
"What's your mother's name?"
"Sue."
"What's her phone number?"
"..."
She grabbed my phone out of my bag and called my mom.
Then she called the paramedics.
I woke up with bruises on my arm from where they took blood. I was .4. They told my boyfriend I was .47.
That's dead talk.
I felt fine and pulled the IV out of my vein in my right hand; I wanted to call a cab.
They pulled me back when I almost reached the street. I was put on a gurney and wheeled to a room where they posted a guard. They either thought I would harm myself or that I would leave AMA. They were the ones who suggested I call a cab. I was confused.
My boyfriend picked me up when he woke up. He wondered why they didn't call him over and over since he's one block away yet they called my mom over and over and she's in another state.
He came to get me. He was late for work, and I was sorry about that. He's never late for work.
I rode in the passenger side of his car on the way home. He says that doesn't count for my anxiety programme, but I feel like it does.
I haven't ridden in the passenger seat of a car since the last time I was in the Emergency Room, when my mom took me in for a panic attack.
I'm making progress.
