I thought about starting this by listing the assholes and the nice people, but you all know who you are. Many of you are filled with humanity, and the rest are full of the substance your body is supposed to reject.
My wife went into the hospital on July 8, and we were informed of a "family conference" set for July 17. The intended purpose of the conference was for ME to make the plug-pulling decision. Most people who are in a coma for longer than seven days never recover.
The thing was set for 3 PM, so I decided to show up at 1 PM. When I arrived, the nurse said there had been another change. I sat down quickly and ask her to tell me the news. She refused, and said I must go to the room and see the doctor. I stepped into my wife's room, only to find her awake, no more tubes hooked up, and the doctor grinning like a shit-eating dog. I asked what the hell had happened, and he asked if I believed in miracles. When I didn't answer, he just smiled. He said she had beaten the odds, she had not actually had sepsis, and her condition was described as hypoxia encephalopathy, or lack of oxygen to the brain.
She is now at about 99.5% of normal with full recovery expected in a month or so. She came home on Aug 5. I don't know why it happened the way it did, so I refuse to question anything. Those of you who wrote shitty things, it didn't work. Those of you who were kind, thank you.

It turns out they were treating her prophylactically to PREVENT Sepsis, a common condition when stomach fluids are aspirated into the lungs. She was on Levaquin, Flagyl, Vancomycin, and Tobramycin. Look them up.
Sounds like YOU looked them up.

no1, one thing is correct.I was indeed on here during the time I wasn't at the hospital. During some of that time she was yelling that the nurses were trying to poison her and she was calling a cab to go home. That's when they put her in a zip-up restraining tent over her bed. Things could still have gone either way, and I wasn't ready for her to be mentally disabled forever. I needed time away.
However, you and the other jaded motherfuckers on here have all the answers and wouldn't believe God himself, so be aware that I told the truth 100% of the time. If you feel otherwise, fuck off.

I'm the one that has to make the same decision if my girlfriend suffers the same fate. She wants me to "pull the plug" asap. I don't really think about it much.
