There was a headline in the online version of the newspaper here that said, "Pregnant woman stabbed with screwdriver". I ignored it for a while because who wants to read that, but eventually I had gone through everything else in the paper and clicked on it.
I had to read the story a couple of times and follow a couple of links to fully understand what happened.
At least I think I understand it.
From what I gather, there was this guy living in a trailer with his wife and their two children. Ok so far so good. Also living in the trailer was the guy's pregnant girlfriend. The wife and the girlfriend got into some sort of argument (imagine) and the wife tried to kick the girlfriend out of the trailer. The girlfriend put up some sort of resistance and the wife stabbed her with a sharpened screw driver.

i liked the fact that she had a SHARPENED screwdriver lying around. i didn't think prisons let you bring that sort of stuff home with you when you got let out on parole.

You're in Charlotte? I have people there. Among the things I hear from them is that y'all have the most fucked-up local politics in this great country. I mean, I live in the only State with it's own category on fark.com and this story probably wouldn't have even made the paper here unless it was a stuffed swordfish instead of a screwdriver, but even I can say you folks have seriously deluded officials.
