When I was a kid, the cool thing to do was jump across the little ditch that later became known as the Grand Canyon.

Seriously, we stopped there once, but didn't have time for the hiking, etc. The views from the tourist area (railed off observation places) were still awesome.

Fucking agnostics/atheists. Pffffffffft.

And they say CHRISTIANS are close-minded (which most are). Pot/kettle, etc.

I say believe what you want to, but don't push it on anyone or make people feel stupid for believing what the fuck they want to believe.

Is that really so hard?
-------------------------------------

Really, i kinda get ruffled when people start talking about god's perfect creations. I am still healing from the "perfect" wisdom teeth that were perfectly impacted and had to be ripped from my skull.

I am an athiest, but i am completely willing to believe in any god. Just show me some proof.

I've read this over four times, and also the reviews preceding it, and I still don't know what the hell she's talking about. I did not detect any ridicule or pushing or even atheists.

do all white guys just have red in their beards?

------------------

I think very few do, although it is probably more common than red hair.

almost every single white dude i know whose facial i've seen has had red in it. the only two exceptions i can recall of the top of my head to this are my dad and one of my uncles. every white guy's part ginger...

Personal question for you, Indo: did you ever play hockey? You're built like a hockey player, is the reason I ask.

------------

I thought it was because it looks like I was growing a hockey beard for the playoffs.

No I haven't played, except for floor hockey in high school.

God didn't do that, the Colorado River did.

That is like saying that a hose filled a pool, not the man who put it there and turned the water on.

when did people start buying into me being a God freak, that was a lead up to posting me in all my glory...

It's really hard to do the Grand Canyon justice in photos, but these do a pretty damn good job. I hiked it rim-to-rim about 10 years ago, and it was one of the few times I've had to seriously question what I had gotten myself into.

--------------------

When I was there I thought my photos looked like garbage, because it was so much cooler in person, when I got home they stood out a little better.

I've been down to the river (S. Kaibab), over and up (Bright Angel) in one day in mid-summer. 18 miles. Don't ever do that.

---------------

That is badass.

I was actually planning on doing that, however it was the first time I had traveled far since I sprained my ankle, the numerous posters and warnings about people who have died trying it, and the fine for getting rescued convinced me otherwise.

When I go back I am going to do a lot of hiking before hand so I am ready. I actually think we could have done it this time, we left at 8:15 AM and got back around 2:45 PM so I think we could have handled the extra six miles, but I wouldn't want to do it in the middle of summer.

Nice, heights always make me feel like jumping though. When I'm up high my feet tingle and I feel like stepping off, I always have to move back and fight the urge.

This reminded me of the 3 hours of video footage I had to watch of my parents tour of duty through the Grand Canyon last year. It was fucking boring.

These photos are WOW.
I have always wanted to go to the bottom and ask the Havasupai if I could swim under their waterfalls, but the idea of trusting a stinkmule to take me on those narrow trails makes me twitch. Freakin mules, you can't trust em!

I never thought much about wanting to go until I saw my Dad & Stepmom's photographs. Really, really beautiful. It's now on my list.

------------------

I have always wanted to go, but it was much more impressive than I thought it would be.

We only had two days. We did the rim trail the first day which was about 6 miles and went through several great lookouts (you could take a bus out and walk back). The second day we did bright angel, which goes 3k feet down and 6 miles out, brought a little lunch to eat at the end, and made a day out of it.
