For the first time in my eighteen years I cast a vote for president of the United States
As I filled in the ovals for the names Obama, Lautenberg and Rothman, I felt a sense of attachment to this moment in history that maybe the older and more experienced don't feel. I felt an ability to make a change, even if my state is solidly blue, and even if there's not a one in a million chance that my vote would ever matter, the fate of the election is in the hands of the people like me.
College is everything I hoped it would be, and I'm in heaven here. I'm for the most part very happy with the way things have turned out, despite some weird and sporadic emotional rollercoasters. Washington DC is a great place, despite a few shady sections, and I feel a lot older than I was even a year ago. Time seems to be slowing down in a way.
Anyway, just stopping by Ubersite to say hi. Nice to see this place is still keeping together. I've been part of this site for a little under four years now, cool to see that it's still around and alive, even if some of the faces have changed. Hope everyone's autumn and election day are going well. Be safe and happy, until whatever time I swing back around.

I didn't mean that older people didn't feel a connection to history, I was just speaking as a first time voter, especially in an election as important as this.
Anyway, yesterday was one of the best nights of my life. I've rarely been as happy or in a better place with better news and with better people.
