Yeah this is months old and no longer really relevant but a conversation with bart made me think I should post it here.
back in October (I think October) a Ron Paul nut took chalk to the sidewalks of Shippensburg University. I reacted to this by buying my own box of chalk.
bart: paul got a couple percent

Ron Paul was easily rattled as well. Ever see him interviewd on TV? If he got a question out of left field his eyes would pop, his mouth would hang open, and he'd jerk like someone slid a finger up his ass without permission.

Not +2 worthy but sometimes one has to +2 to counteract some of the -2s.
I liked Ron Paul on about 80% of his ideas. Sadly, the remaining 20% was bat-shit crazy as hell. And that was the only 20% those wackos loved about him.
I tried explaining to people that Ron Paul has been a completely ineffective politician because he has gotten ZERO pieces of legislation passed that he has sponsored or co-sponsored. I tried explaining that the president doesn't make the laws, and that as president he can't do what all of his nutty followers somehow thought he could. I'd like to see the magic wand that makes the IRS go away... it would be great, but it ain't happening. If you can't get republicans or democrats on board with your view, you aren't going to get shit passed.
As president, Ron Paul could have been so ineffective that he could have been impeached and removed from office for being incompetent. The only thing I see as a good outcome of this is that it would force the democrats and republicans to work together.
I wouldn't mind seeing a democrat president and a republican congress keeping each other honest. However, I certainly don't like most of the judges that democrats would appoint. Not that Reagan or G. HW Bush appointed anyone better for the supreme court.
I'd like to see the states given their rights back. At least Ron Paul was for that more than anyone I've seen in a LONG, LONG time.
