I have been to 38 out of 50 States in the USA.
My Personal OPINION:
Best: Nevada
Worst: Virginia
Overall, I thought the western states rocked and the east coast sucked major ass. It had a lot to do with the people, not just the land.
The dark green states I have lived in for over 6 months.
Am I wrong to not really be all excited to mark Connecticut and Rhode Island off my list? The one missing I'd love to go to would be Alaska.

Florida, twice.
Until you dickheads stop taking finger prints, forcing people to show private documents on laptops, and instigating stupid ideas like TAKING YOUR FUCKING SHOES OFF TO GO THROUGH CUSTOMS, it'll be the only one I visit.

I want to go to Arizona, or Nevada, or New Mexico, or anywhere else where it doesn't fucking rain constantly. I want to live in Chicago but only in the spring. It sucks major ass in the winter and I hear it's no picnic in the summer either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't you live somewhere in GA by me? And you're complaining about it raining too much? You know we just tried to mug Tennessee for their water? Just sayin...

Yeah, I live near Emory. I just hate rain.
And it was our water. Not Tennessee's. Sometimes you have to be firm with those people.

I was toting my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road
When along came a semi with a high canvas covered load
If your goin' to Winnemucca, Mack with me you can ride
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand
And I said, "Listen! I've traveled every road in this here land!"
I've been everywhere, man
I've been everywhere, man
Crossed the deserts bare, man
I've breathed the mountain air, man
Of travel I've had my share, man
I've been everywhere

I'm in lovely Gila Bend, Arizona right now. The grossly overused phrase "stark beauty of the desert" applies. Nary a bit o' snow or rain.

If we're listing countries too;
The Good ol' US of A, Canada, Mexico, The Bahamas, Kenya, France, Italy, Japan, China, Hong Kong (when it wasn't part of China), Singapore, Taiwan, Pakistan, Australia, The Seychelles, and the UK (albeit I was on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean it's still a British territory, and the Bahamas is an autonomous Commonwealth and the Seychelles is an independant Republic anyway).
I want to go to the actual UK, Ireland, Scotland, Germany... all the beer-drinking places on a beer-drinking tour. That'd be fun.

Just so you know, Alaska sucks. I was there for two months because my sister was stationed at Eielson AFB. There is NOTHING there. If you love to have sex with wildlife, then it's great. If you're a normal person who likes regular social interaction, it's awful.
If it weren't for the oil, we should have just given it to the damn Japanese.
I don't have a best state. NC, where I live now, is pretty fun.

Fine, I hate people, so it's perfect! See, I live in LA, and I WANT to be someplace where there's nothing. Also, I love to have sex with wildlife.

Never had the opportunity to go there but know a couple folks who did. I did that whole air assault thing, though. I will say that rappeling out of a blackhawk was actually one of the more cool things I've done.
Did some rock climbing in Tennessee, too. I'm not sure of the difficulty, but it was just light-to-moderate at best... A straight cliff, but with enough places to get a small foothold or hand in... No overhangs and such. That's nuts.

Nevermind. If you're in the Alberta and you're driving to Vegas, most likely you'd take I-15 all the way from the border to your destination, in which case you'd pass through Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.
You'd only pass through the Northwest corner of Arizona, though, so you'd be in the state for all of an hour, at the most.

The Virgin River Gorge area clips the corner of Arizona. I have taken the drive from SLC to Vegas too many times.
One time I was coming back to SLC real late... Hale Bopp was in the sky at the time. All the gas stations were closed, so I pulled over to take a whiz on the side of the highway. It was so quiet it creeped me out. There wasn't a single car you could hear on the interstate.... Creepy as hell.
As a city boy, that kind of silence doesn't come often.
