Last time I ate one of these things was years ago. I almost wish I was back in Iraq to have one once again. I don't even know if they are still putting them into meals... but with a shelf life of 5 years, there must be some still floating around somewhere.

Those things are awesome. I wasn't in the military, but I got some from a friend and took them on the Appalachian Trail. I didn't realize they had a chemical heating system, which made me confused and angry for a short time. Then I figured it out.

I have about 50 of them in my cellar. They're probably about to expire by now, being that I got out in '01. I never liked the way the little black poppy seeds crunched between your teeth...but the M&M's rocked...and I can make a mean snakebite with the lime kool-aid packets.

I used to love the tuna noodle casserole ones. They came with vanilla pound cake and freeze-dried strawberries. I'd mix the berries with water and that little packet of coffee creamer and pour it on the pound cake.

Lemon Poppyseed pound cake was one of the best.
I ate so many bean & rice burrito, cheese tortellini, and pasta with vegetables.... That's pretty much all I ate.
I did discover that mixing the cheese w/jalapenos and salsa packets with that bean & rice burrito made the meal totally kick ass. It appears that the bean and rice burrito is no more as I just found this website:
