Lately I've been working on some art projects.
Generally kaleidoscopic and geometric, colorful drawings using post-it notes and pringles cans to make straight lines and circles. There's nothing special about that, but what makes things interesting is that I made 25 color copies of it, picked 25 people at random out of the phone book, and mailed it to them with strange greetings such as:
"Don't worry, it'll be alright."
"Surprise party inside"
"Congratulations, you didn't win anything."
Basically the types of things you'd find under a snapple cap, but I tried to keep it positive, so as not to offend anyone.
Just a random act of strangeness to make a stranger go "WTF?" and possibly put a smile on their face, or brighten their day somehow. Possibly even restore their faith in humanity, though that's a bit of a stretch.
In addition to all this, I've also rented a PO Box for 6 months, to engage in even more acts of wierdness, and I'm inviting anyone here to participate. You can send whatever you want. Pornography, your own wierd art, poetry, stories, pictures, whatever.
Here's an idea for the ladies: shave your nether region, and draw a sideways face using your labia for lips. Take a series of photos, rotate the photos, and add little speech bubbles. Write some text, such as a series of rhetorical questions or musings on life in general.
Or don't, the point is you can do whatever you want, just keep it legal, since I'm kinda pretty and wouldn't last long in jail.
I've also been reading on wikipedia about the Cacophony Society, which was the basis for Project Mayhem in Fight Club. Pahlaniuk is obviously a member. To keep it short, these are the people who founded Burning Man, and do all sorts of strange stunts, which you can read about for yourself here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cacophony_Society
I've come to pretend that Ubersite is somewhat like this, as I can see a great deal of talent, in many areas of the arts here. I've taken to calling it the Ubermensch society, because it sounds appropriate.
Mail any submissions to:
Monkeyswithguns
PO Box 1283
Jackson, GA, 30233
If I get something I deem especially interesting, I'll be sure to post it here.
Stamps cost $0.41
Taking something ethereal from the internet and transferring it to physical reality is priceless.
And quite possibly insane.
Below you'll find the picture I spent approximately 12 hours total drawing, coloring, stippling, and copying. The hardest part was determining the proper color density of the dots, to make it look asthetically appealing.

Hmmm..will these curiosities back include monkeys and/or guns?
If so, I'd much prefer the former.

feety's been doing a lot of traveling lately. I don't think he's been to Georgia, though.
Hypothetical question: Do you want to receive these things from anonymous?
------------------------------------
That would be fine, though I intend to send something back for everything that I recieve. So far I've gotten a hypno-tape on memory and some floss from Captain Thorns. I'm still trying to come up with something to top it to send back.

Why don't you set up an alternate email address and have stuff sent there?
-----------------------------------
Because I already get plenty of spam and fake interested girl emails. I want something real, like a letter, something physical, that I can covet, or throw away, or burn, or masturbate to in the case of my suggestion, or eat if I get cookies, or smoke if I get something good, but it has to be "real."

Why don't you set up an alternate email address and have stuff sent there? I'm sure you'd get more stuff and quite a bit of it before it gets bombarded with porn and goatse mirror links.
For those submitting, you could also keep it anonymous with disposable email addresses (15 minute use ones like www.guerrillamail.com)

It would be interesting to see what kind of stuff people send you...
What happenes if you get sent illegal stuff, like a fat joint, Sico's kiddie porn collection, or a live kitten.
---------------------------------------------------------
Well I can't be held liable for something I didn't realize. What if someone sent a fat joint to say...postsecret, or one of those other mail in sites. Or what if someone mailed porn to a church for kicks?
I don't think it would hold up in court, so I'm really not worried, plus Chairman Meow could use a new friend.

Probably not. I'm pretty familiar with the postal clerks there, and they know me by my real name. It's a fairly small town.

^What does this word mean? Is it an art term?
---------------
I've heard it in the context of makeup. It means to press a substance into a surface, e.g. foundation into skin.
Carmindy from What Not To Wear is one of my role models. I learned it from her.

Also, I'm going to send you something. IDK what yet, but I'm sure I'll find something suitable. How big is that PO box? Could we send an item? Or is it just for letters? Does your post office have an anthrax sniffing dog? Or will I have to febreeze the letter before I send it?
---------------------------------------
smallest and cheapest box available, but they'll hold larger packages behind the counter for me.
Stippling is actually a painting term I think, but it looks kinda like the dots.

Corny,
there is some thing where people leave books in random places for other people to find. Once you are done reading, you're suppose to drop it off in som other random location for the next person to find.

Muddy, no, because up until last night I was still trying to read the one I was reading, but last night I realized I have had enough... it's a horrible book. I'm going to go to the library and get "the road", eventually.
I'd go on my way home from work tonight, except for the fact that my dog has the shits, and I'm afraid to leave him in the house too long.
