A small trickle, cavorting down the way.
I watch the blood as the trickle slows, and dries and explodes into crimson ruby lush.
The wan light of winter, seeping through the window becomes the warmth of the source, reaching for me, its lost son, with unfathomable love.
I look to the angel at me shoulder. Her works fall from her hand, the rubber tube slips from her teeth and for a brief second she grins that free and feral grin that's been tattooed on my brain for nearly a year.
She arches back into the couch, and begins to convulse. The spittle sprays from her open mouth in diamond arcs of splendor. Her seizure beats the heartrhythm of the universe, her heels drumming on the hardwood floor a counterpoint that speaks of truth and endings.
I float into exquisite lightness, and her choking glotterals guide me on.

I come to in grey haze of washed out soul.
I'm propped against something cold, like marble, like Hannibal Lecter leaning his face against David.
I sit up, head thumping and the worldsick.
She's on the couch beside me. Cold. A fly crawls across her exposed eyeball, but what grabs my attention is the dried drool marking her chin, showing where a small trickle cavorted down the way.
