This is it, bitches. The drama, the rhymes, the flirtations with legitimacy...ALL OF IT, soon to be over and set behind us like a looked-over menu at some local dive bar you used to take your high school sweetheart after you both got out of college, you know, to try and remember the good old days, but you feel bad about being there because you feel better than the joint but she used to look so good blindly placing the menu behind her and up along the top of the wood-back booth by the bathroom you two were so fond of, mostly because the motion would stretch whatever shirt she had on over her tits and you'd get a good eyeful but also because it made her look unaffected ok so you're lying it's all because of the tits but hey isn't it always yes even that time you went to the school nurse with what you were calling an ear infection but was just, in fact, an irritating need to see the top of her lace-bound cans from in between that little button down number she used to wear you simpleton, you fool, you boob-minded bumtoucher?

I'm just saying, when you have an obvious alter who has posted only 3 messages, and you've rated them 5 times with above average ratings on each one it seems like you are giving him a bit too much attention. And then you look at Mr_Burns giving you a +2 on the only 5 reviews it's given you, despite the fact that your reviews were still negative, that's not typical alter behaviour. And then you have Mr_Burns lowering the score of every single one of your opponents posts in supa.

I would probably see it the same way if it wasn't me on the end of it. But shit happens, and once again it's a victory for the influencer (is that even a word?)
I wouldn't have even been in this if you hadn't mentioned the whole '11:59' thing (which was funny as hell btw). Even after that debacle, I offered to step aside, but my opponent chose not to.
It just didn't mean that much to me.
Anyways, people can think what they want. I'm sure it'll cripple me psychologically in years to come.

The final result was definitely the right one, considering that I should never have got this far anyway.
As for the uberboard rumours....jeez.
That's fucking lame. Alters are for people with multiple personality disorders. I have a hard enough time keeping track of who I am as it is, without other personas to worry about. This place has seen alters coming out of the woodwork recently, and my guess is they probably belong to maybe 3 or 4 people who feel the need to entertain themselves in such a manner. I'm sure they're delighted at having pulled the shenanigan strings, and they'll sleep much better tonight for doing so.
Get a grip. It's a poetry competition for chrissakes. With no prize.

Spidey 3, not bad. A little forced. A little too much reaching for that, "I am just a normal, nerdy, kid feeling." But, it had its moments of fun, and some moments of dullness, could have been clipped to 2 hours and you would have lost nothing.

I agree with CM to a point - The entire left hand bracket of the competition got well and truly fucked up, and I probably shouldn't have got this far.
I'm more surprised than anyone, believe me.
I only enetered because I missed both ubertines and ubermas due to work stuff, and just thought 'what the hell, I'll just go for it'.
Seriously. Before this comp, the best poetry I ever wrote were the sort of limericks you find on the back of toilet doors in pubs.
As I've said somewhere before, if this could have somehow been an anonymous competition, then the results would have been much different.
I'll try my best against ahf, but personally, all of his pieces so far have been better than mine.

Firstly of all, to start with, and such, you're admitting that you beat two opponents that didn't put up anything NEAR their best effort. My sentiment is just that I wish they did, because I think you probably wouldn't be a finalist if so.
Specifically, I was thinking more of Lishy's "A House, a History", as you'll notice that I gave her "Bear in Winter" a zero. And Orgasmatron's "Rhythm Run". If everyone thinks that JoeyG's or your entries have been at that level (or up there with any of Gofer's entries), then I merely have a minority opinion.
To be sure, JoeyG's entries have gotten better with each round. But even with "Bloodlust", though he tightened up his meter more than ever before, his rhyme schemes were a bit campy. See O-man's review about the word choices. And really, Shlongy beat him anyway, so it's not a stretch to think someone else should be in the final.
I also forgot to mention ghola in my previous review. Her entries have been fun.

The only post of either of these two finalists that I even rated, wasn't particulary my honest rating (but he was up against Shlongy, I believe, so I +2'd it).
Bottom line: I saw better, kick ass efforts from gofer, O-tron, Circe, scourge, & Licious. And I wish it was two of them in the finals.
Oh well. It is one man's honest (even if somewhat rude) opinion.

But lets be real honest shall we? The only reason JoeyG and I are here is because of the shenny's that were played out in earlier rounds. If Merlina, Circe and Coley had stayed in, and Sac had played a square hand (hey and I am not knocking you Sac, you had a right to do what you did), then yes it would have played out differently.
Also, JoeyG's last poem, Bloodlust, that was competition winning material. JoeyG's other material has been nothing more than entertaining and well written as well. I think Joey would have giving anybody a good run for their money.
But we all have opinions.
